Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Ahmedabad
Upon arrival at Ahmedabad Airport or Railway Station, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Rest and relax after your journey. If time permits, explore the Sabarmati Riverfront, or visit Sabarmati Ashram, the historic residence of Mahatma Gandhi.

Overnight stay in Ahmedabad.

Day 2: Ahmedabad – Little Rann of Kutch (Approx. 100 km / 2.5 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Little Rann of Kutch, home to the unique Wild Ass Sanctuary, the only place in India where you can find the endangered Asiatic Wild Ass (Gudkhur).

In the afternoon, enjoy your first jeep safari in the Rann. Besides wild ass, spot Indian Desert Fox, Chinkara, Nilgai, Indian Wolf, and Blackbuck. Birders may see Falcons, Spoonbills, Indian Courser, Larks, and Aquila Eagles.

Overnight stay at an eco-resort in Bajana or Dasada.

Day 3: Little Rann of Kutch – Birdwatching & Tribal Villages

Start early with a birdwatching safari to see Lesser and Greater Flamingos, European Roller, Common Crane, Lesser Florican, Spotted Sandgrouse, and many more.

Later, visit Nawa Talao, a seasonal lake known for hosting migratory birds like Dalmatian Pelican, White Stork, and Demoiselle Cranes.

Optional visit to Rabari and Bharwad tribal villages, famous for their colorful attire, cattle herding, and traditional homes.

Overnight stay at Little Rann.

Day 4: Little Rann – Moti Virani (Approx. 280 km / 6 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Moti Virani near Banni Grasslands, in the Greater Rann of Kutch region. On arrival, check in to your eco-lodge. In the evening, take a short nature walk in the open scrublands, ideal for spotting small mammals and bird species.

Day 5: Banni Grasslands Safari & Fulay Birding Trail

Early morning, head to Fulay village, one of the few places in India where you can spot the elusive Grey Hypocolius, a top species on birders’ lists. Look out for Sykes’s Nightjar on the way. Later in the day, explore Banni Grasslands, which are home to:

  • 39 mammal species including Desert Cat, Striped Hyena, Caracal, Leopard, and Fox
  • Over 350 resident and migratory bird species like Hoopoe Lark, Macqueen’s Bustard, Marshall’s Iora, and White-naped Tit

Overnight stay at Moti Virani.

Day 6: Excursion to Lala Bustard Sanctuary (Approx. 2 hrs one way)

Post breakfast, drive to Kutch Bustard Sanctuary (Lala), a protected area for the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard (Ghorad).

This sanctuary is one of India’s few remaining bustard habitats. You may spot:

  • Great Indian Bustard, Lesser Florican, and Houbara Bustard
  • Other birds: Harriers, Black Partridge, Sandgrouse, Imperial Eagle
  • Mammals: Chinkara, Indian Fox, Jackal, Striped Hyena, Desert Cat

Return to Moti Virani in the evening. Overnight stay.

Day 7: Moti Virani – Jamnagar (Approx. 290 km / 6 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Jamnagar, a paradise for bird lovers and coastal wildlife enthusiasts. Check in at the hotel and have lunch.

Later, visit Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary, a mix of freshwater and saltwater wetlands. Look out for:

  • Indian Skimmer, Black-necked Stork, Knob-billed Duck
  • Caspian Tern, Common Teal, Great Crested Grebe
  • Occasional sightings of Jungle Cat, Blue Bull, and Jackal

Overnight stay at Jamnagar.

Day 8: Jamnagar – Narara Island – Coastal Birding
Today, explore the Narara Marine National Park (subject to tide timings and forest permits). This intertidal zone allows you to walk on coral reefs at low tide and spot:

  • Crab Plover, Curlew Sandpiper, Kentish Plover, Ruddy Turnstone
  • Colorful corals, sea anemones, reef fish, and even octopus in tidal pools

If time permits, visit Lakhota Lake, home to over 75 bird species including Flamingos, Cormorants, Gulls, and Pelicans.

Overnight stay at Jamnagar.

Day 9: Jamnagar – Gir National Park (Approx. 250 km / 5 hrs)

After breakfast, depart for Gir National Park, the only natural habitat of Asiatic Lions. On arrival, check-in at your forest lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari in the Devaliya Interpretation Zone, offering high chances of seeing Lions, Leopards, Spotted Deer, and Blue Bulls in semi-wild conditions.

Overnight stay at Gir.

Day 10: Gir National Park – Morning & Evening Safaris

Today, enjoy two safaris (morning & afternoon) inside Gir’s core zones, accompanied by expert guides. Besides Asiatic Lions, Gir hosts:

  • Indian Leopard, Hyena, Sambar, Four-horned Antelope
  • Crested Serpent Eagle, Paradise Flycatcher, Painted Sandgrouse
  • Marshes and riverbanks often reveal Mugger Crocodiles and aquatic birds

Optional visit to a Rabari or Siddi tribal village in the evening.

Overnight stay at Gir.

Day 11: Gir – Velavadar Blackbuck National Park (Approx. 200 km / 4.5 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Velavadar National Park, one of the few tropical grassland reserves in India, famous for Blackbucks. In the afternoon, take a jeep safari in the national park. Spot:

  • Herds of Blackbucks, Nilgai, Indian Wolf, Jungle Cat, and Fox
  • Rare Harriers, Flamingos, and Stolizcka’s Bushchat (in season)

Overnight stay at Velavadar.

Day 12: Velavadar – Ahmedabad Departure (Approx. 150 km / 4 hrs)

Early morning safari to witness the Blackbucks at sunrise and possibly observe the harrier roost, a unique spectacle for birdwatchers.

After breakfast, drive back to Ahmedabad Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey, filled with unforgettable memories of Gujarat’s rich wilderness and vibrant culture.
