Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bhuj

Upon arrival at Bhuj Airport or Railway Station, you’ll begin your journey through the cultural heartland of Kutch. After checking in, explore the historic palaces of Bhuj including the grand Prag Mahal and the mirror-studded Aina Mahal. Later, visit the nearby Bhujodi village, a traditional weavers’ settlement known for handwoven shawls and stoles. In the evening, witness a panoramic view from the Hamirsar Lake or explore the local handicraft markets.

Day 2: Bhuj to Hodka via Banni Villages

Today, drive into the rural Banni region to explore the rich tribal traditions of Kutch. Your first stop is the Meghwal community in Bhirandiyara, known for exquisite embroidery and mud mirror artwork called Lippan Kaam. Continue to Ludiya, where the Harijan community produces colorful woodwork and leather crafts. By afternoon, arrive at Hodka, a charming village known for its eco-resort-style Bhunga huts. Experience the simplicity of tribal life amid desert landscapes.

Day 3: Hodka – White Rann – Kalo Dungar – Nirona – Bhuj

Begin the day early with a visit to the breathtaking White Rann – a vast expanse of salt desert that glows under the morning sun. Later, proceed to Kalo Dungar (Black Hill), the highest point in Kutch offering spectacular views of the Rann. On the return journey, stop at Nirona village, home to three rare crafts – Rogan art (painted with castor oil), copper bell-making, and lacquer woodwork. Interact with the artisans and witness live demonstrations before returning to Bhuj for overnight stay.

Day 4: Bhuj to Mandvi via Tunda Vandh

After breakfast, head southwards to the coastal town of Mandvi. En route, visit Tunda Vandh – a fascinating Siddi tribal settlement of African descent known for unique dance traditions and musical instruments. On arrival in Mandvi, explore the grand Vijay Vilas Palace, a 20th-century royal residence surrounded by gardens and fountains. In the evening, relax at the serene Mandvi Beach.

Day 5: Mandvi to Bhuj via Tribal Artisan Villages

Today you’ll return to Bhuj, visiting prominent artisan villages en route. Stop at Ajrakhpur, where families have practiced the traditional Ajrakh block-printing technique for generations. Then visit Sumrasar, a hub of Kala cotton weaving and natural dye workshops. These visits offer not only an appreciation for crafts but also a look at tribal community initiatives in sustainable development. Arrive in Bhuj by late afternoon and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 6: Departure from Bhuj

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before being transferred to Bhuj Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. If time permits, visit the LLDC museum for an overview of Kutch’s living traditions.
