Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bhuj – White Rann & Cultural Night at Dhordo
Upon arrival at Bhuj Railway Station or Airport, you will be warmly received and driven to Dhordo, the gateway to the magical White Rann of Kutch. Located near the Indo-Pak border, Dhordo hosts the vibrant Rann Utsav, a cultural celebration of Kutch’s crafts, music, and traditions.
Check-in at your tented resort or eco-camp. After lunch, explore the Rann Utsav village haats, showcasing handicrafts like Rogan art, Bandhani textiles, and leatherwork. Later, proceed to the White Rann to witness a surreal sunset over the salt desert—a mesmerizing experience as the white sands reflect the hues of the sky.
Return to the resort for dinner and a cultural evening, featuring traditional folk dances and live music performances under the stars.

Day 2: Sunrise Over White Rann – Kalo Dungar – Road to Heaven – Arrival at Dholavira
Start your morning early with a visit to the White Rann at sunrise, where the desert glows under golden light—an unforgettable spectacle. After breakfast, check out and begin your journey towards Kalo Dungar (Black Hill).
At Kalo Dungar, the highest point in Kutch, enjoy breathtaking views of the Great Rann below and visit the Dattatreya Temple, a sacred site wrapped in local myths and known for its panoramic vantage point.
From here, continue towards Dholavira, crossing through the spellbinding ‘Road to Heaven’—a narrow road flanked on both sides by endless white salt flats, giving the illusion of floating through infinity. This is one of Kutch’s most iconic and photogenic routes.
Arrive in Dholavira, situated on Khadir Bet Island in the heart of the Great Rann. Check-in at your desert resort or eco-stay. Relax in the calm, stark beauty of the landscape.

Day 3: Ancient Harappan City of Dholavira – Departure to Bhuj
After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of the magnificent Dholavira Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant and best-preserved cities of the Indus Valley Civilization, dating back over 4,500 years.
Highlights of the site include:
- The Citadel & Lower Town – A sophisticated urban plan with public and residential zones.
- Water Management System – Stepwells, tanks, and drainage networks showcasing ancient engineering.
- The Ancient Signboard – Featuring large characters in the undeciphered Indus script.
- Stadium & Bead Workshop – Indications of communal life and craftsmanship.
Also visit the nearby Dholavira Fossil Park, which displays fossilized trees dating back to the Jurassic period—giving a glimpse into the region’s geological history.
Post sightseeing, check out and drive back to Bhuj. En route, enjoy glimpses of local village life, open desert landscapes, and traditional Kutchi architecture.
Arrive at Bhuj by evening and proceed to Bhuj Railway Station or Airport for your onward journey, concluding your enriching exploration of Kutch’s salt plains and ancient heritage.
